REAL Steel® ensures direct seamless integration between AutoCAD graphic environment and STAAD.Pro/SCAD/Matrix design and analysis applications. During the creation of a design model, REAL Steel® forms an input file in format of a preferred CAD system. Geometry of model, cross-section data, offsets of joints with all the proper physical parameters of real materials are read: density, strength, module of elasticity and others. Out of one model, the user may create several design schemes and variations. In REAL Steel®, the user may specify types of support and connections of structural elements specify loads, loading variants and combinations, describe design parameters.
Design system is loaded directly from REAL Steel®. After behaviour analysis of the model is performed, results received during calculation are automatically scanned and assigned to the elements of the structural model; the elements are updated in accordance with parametrical connections and rules.
REAL Steel® reads and saves data in formats used in many industries, including SDNF. This ensures integration of the data with other standard CAD systems for steel structures and allows steel manufacturers to use models or drawings generated in REAL Steel®® in digital machine-tool control applications.
Integrated two-way interface to leading third-party structural analysis and design packages includes:
- Analysis model tree;
- Multiple structures of the same Analysis Model;
- Reading of model geometry, section properties, connection offsets;
- Assigning of material properties and constants from physical model;
- Description for supports and releases, specifications of elements;
- Assigning of loads and load cases;
- Automatic generation of load combinations;
- Description of design parameters;
- Export of physical model to STAAD.Pro/SCAD/Matrix;
- Import of analysis model from STAAD.Pro/SCAD/Matrix;
- Import of design results from STAAD.Pro;
- Automatic model update reflecting results of design;
- Export/Import in SDNF format;
