ANALYSIS
  1. Shear Wall Analysis (General)
  2. Seismic Force Distribution on Shear Walls (Per UBC – 1997)
  3. Laterally Loaded Pile Analysis (Beams on Elastic Foundation)
  4. 3D Structural Analysis

Shear Wall Analysis (General)

  • Lateral force distribution analysis for a rigid diaphragm, connected to randomly located shear walls providing lateral support.
  • The walls that resist the diaphragm motion are considered flexible as compared to the diaphragm and the lateral story shear is distributed through this rigid diaphragm to the resisting walls in proportion to the rigidities of the walls and the motion of the diaphragm.
  • Modern buildings tend to be irregular in shape and the placement of shear walls is not always ideal to resist torsional motion of the diaphragm.
  • Analyze any typical story of such buildings. The effect of openings in the walls and different properties of the walls and diaphragms can be considered in the analysis.
  • A comprehensive output, which reports the coordinate of Center of Mass and Center of Rigidity and also provides the details of lateral forces induced on the walls due to direct forces and torsional moments.

Seismic Force Distribution on Shear Walls (Per UBC – 1997)

  • Seismic force distribution analysis for a rigid diaphragm, connected to randomly located shear walls providing lateral support, per UBC-1997.
  • Analyze any typical story of a building with due consideration of direct shear (per sec. 1630.6) and horizontal torsional moment (per sec. 1630.7). The effect of openings in the walls and different properties of the walls and diaphragms can be considered in the analysis.
  • A comprehensive output, which reports the coordinate of Center of Mass and Center of Rigidity and also provides the details of lateral forces induced on the walls due to direct forces and torsional moments for all possible cases.

Laterally Loaded Pile Analysis (Beams on Elastic Foundation)

  • Analyze a fully or partially embedded single pile against lateral load, considering soil-structure interaction.
  • Finite Element method is used to obtain the solutions to the above problem.
  • Conventional 2D-beam elements are used to model piles.
  • Soil is modeled by linear springs.
  • The effect of stratification of soil and head condition of pile can be considered in the analysis.
  • A comprehensive output provides the user the information about nodal displacements, shear force and bending moment distribution along the pile-length and forces developed in the soil springs, in tabular and graphical formats.

3D Structural Analysis

  • Create a model up to 35 members in any fashion you like! Good for continuous beams, frames, etc.!
  • Allow any supports, member releases, beta angles, material constants.
  • Pick section properties from a myriad of country tables (all standard sections included!)
  • Apply joint, member (uniform force, uniform moment, trapezoidal, linearly varying, triangular), selfweight, and temperature (varying across the depth and width) loads.
  • Configure as many load combinations with user defined factors.
  • Edit, delete, change parameters with the click of a button.
  • Customizable reports.
  • Dynamic/Interactive graphics for validation and verification. Rotate, zoom, pan, or label your structure.
  • Reports and plots displacements, support reactions and member end forces.
